Kudos to ...
Honors conferred on students
by the school are well publicized at school assemblies and
events, and on the Penn Charter website. (See links below.)
However, many of our students
also receive recognition outside of school for academic or
extracurricular achievements. In the spirit of celebrating
everyone's accomplishments, we congratulate the following
Penn Charter students for honors conferred this spring:
Gus Sacks won
1st Place in the 2006 Jostens Photo Contest/Athletes in Action
for his soccer photo, "Save Amidst Chaos." Jostens selected
97 prizes in a variety of categories from more than 5,000
photo entries. See photo.
The Concord Review, which publishes
exemplary history essays by high school students, this spring
printed "Teaching Meritocracy," a paper senior Grace
Fong wrote last year for Jack Coleman's AP United
States History course.
Mark Slobodinsky
was awarded a $4000 scholarship from the Bucks County Courier
Times in recognition of his years of service as a carrier
for the newspaper.
Michael Weick
won a $3,000 scholarship from Beneficial Savings Bank for
an essay he wrote suggesting a program that would improve
his community or neighborhood. More than 600 high school seniors
from almost 200 schools responded.
