Picturing Communities, the theme of our juried exhibition,
will explore the concept, representation and evocation of community. As a Quaker
school, we care deeply about creating a community that is both caring and exhilarating.
Just as we know that we depend on one another here, we are aware also of the
strength others find in their own communities – and of the interdependence of
communities. We look forward to all the ways in which artists in this show will
picture and imagine community.
The works in Picturing Communities will be on display to artists, neighbors and parents; Penn Charter students and teachers in every grade will tour the gallery and discover ways to extend their learning. This year, as with past shows, our inspiring teachers will use the exhibit to find rich opportunities for curricular connections and explorations.
The oldest Quaker school in the world, Penn Charter is a K-12 school for boys
and girls. Please visit www.penncharter.com to learn more.
