Expert Offers Advice, Tips on Financing a College Education

College counselors from Penn Charter and six other area independent schools will host a workshop on college financial aid and scholarships at Penn Charter on Tuesday, Dec. 12 at Penn Charter. All interested Upper School families and students are invited to attend.

The program, which begins at 7 p.m. in the Meeting Room, will feature George Walter, associate dean of enrollment management for University Admission and Financial Assistance at Villanova University. Walter has been a financial aid professional for more than 25 years and previously served as director of financial aid at La Salle University and as assistant director of financial aid at St. Joseph's University. He will discuss the nuts and bolts of applying for financial aid, providing both insights and helpful tips.

Penn Charter is coordinating on the event with Abington Friends School, Chestnut Hill Academy, Friends Select School, Germantown Academy, Germantown Friends School and Springside School.
