Spring Sports Season Ends with Awards and Inter-Ac Titles

The Spring Sports Assembly on May 24, 2006 recognized student athletes for their achievements in six sports and eight teams.

Penn Charter's boys track team won the 120th Inter-Academic Athletic Association track and field title, the school's 65th championship for boys track. And girls softball captured the Inter-Ac title -- for the third year in a row.

Congratulations to the winners, and best of luck to the graduating seniors, many of whom will play their sport in college.

Plaques for Most Valuable Player (MVP), Most Improved Player (MIP) and the Coach's Award (CA) were awarded to 24 students:

Baseball: Mark Adzick (MVP), James Entwisle (MIP), Sean Rust (CA).

Golf: Brett Falkoff (MVP); Matthew Tausch MIP); Tedd Meyer (CA).

Lacrosse, Girls: Stephanie Ragg (MVP); Rebecca Foley (MIP); Nora McGurkin (CA).

Lacrosse, Boys: Rob Kolansky (MVP); R. J. Lyons and Kevin McGarvey (CA).

Softball: Clare Ronan (MVP); Blair Braun and Christina Matthias (CA).

Track, Girls: Hannah Biddle and Khaaleedah Smith (MVPs); Stephanie Yuhasz (CA).

Track, Boys: Kamal Marell and Ben McGovern (MVPs); Will McMunigal (CA).

Tennis: Robbie Goldwein (MVP); Garrett Shields (MIP); Chip Moore (CA).
