JUNIOR SEMINAR
(NON-CREDIT)   QUARTER 2

During the second quarter, juniors are required to meet with a college counselor once a week in a non-credit, non-graded class called Junior Seminar. In addition to giving the students an overview of the roughly 18-month-long college search process, counselors instruct students in the basics of SATs, ACTs, colleges, universities, college guide books, valuable websites, campus visits, interviews, applications and financial aid. SENIOR SEMINAR
(NON-CREDIT)   QUARTER 1

During the first quarter, seniors are required to meet with a college counselor once a week in a non-credit, non-graded class called Senior Seminar. After having spent the summer visiting colleges and refining their “working list” of colleges to which they think they want to apply, seniors learn to write strong college essays, assemble applications, send SAT/ACT scores to colleges, register (if necessary) with the NCAA Eligibility Center, apply for financial aid, and verify that their applications are complete at the colleges to which they have applied.
