Circus Arts Camp

Program Highlights
 Circus Arts Camp
Take one part fun and the other part learning by doing, with cycles, juggling balls and more. The Circus Arts Camp will teach youth how to put together a show while teaching math and business concepts such as presentations, marketing, sales and teamwork.

Camp Staff
Experienced staff from the Philadelphia School of Circus Arts and the Business Center for Entrepreneurship and Social Enterprise will collaborate on this week-long session and apply concepts from the book Circus Math by Will Starr.

Program Highlights

Build your web site and start your business. In this camp, youth will:

  • learn web fundamentals
  • practice coding skills (html and java script)
  • write a business pitch
  • design a professional-looking website
  • use industry standard tools
  • use Canvas Modeling

Camp Staff
This camp is taught by youth from the Business Center’s Youth Entrepreneurship Program that have experience in creating hackathons, writing business plans, and running businesses.

Lunch
Youth & Money campers will be served a nutritious and balanced meal with various choices. Daily offerings will include one entree (salad, sandwich or grill item) and one small drink, and one snack or fruit. Lunch is included for Youth & Money campers!

Extended-Day Program
Interested families may enroll in the extended-day option when registering. Campers may enroll in the Early-Bird Program, the After-Camp Program or both. Families who need this service occasionally or in an emergency must contact the director, and cash payment must be received the day the service is provided. Discounts not applicable.
Prices listed below apply to advanced registration only. Drop-ins accepted on a daily basis without registration for a fee of $15 per day, per program.

Early-Bird Program
Hours  Drop off any time between 7:30 and 8:45 a.m.
Cost  $6/day, $30/week

After-Camp Program
Hours  3:30-5:45 p.m. Pick up any time before 5:45 p.m.
Cost  $11/day, $55/week
Snack and supervised activities included. 
A late fee of $1 per minute will be charged for pick-up after 5:45 p.m.

Transportation
Transportation can be provided for campers from Center City and some surrounding communities. However, our provisions for your child’s transportation do have limits. Once a registration has been submitted, any changes to pickup and drop-off locations must be e-mailed well in advance, and a $25 administrative fee will be charged. Friends of campers may not ride the buses unless they have signed up in advance for transportation. Discounts not applicable. We ask your cooperation in registering early for this extra service.

2017 Enrollment Information for Youth & Money Camp

Enrollment is limited, so please register early. Nonrefundable full payment is due by June 1. There is also a nonrefundable $25 registration fee for each applicant (whether attending one or multiple camps). Payments made after June 1 must be in the form of a credit card, money order or cash. Checks are payable to William Penn Charter School. 

A limited number of scholarships are available for Youth & Money Camp only. For scholarship information, call 215-247-2473 ext. 3.

The camp fee covers all regularly scheduled activities, instructions and materials, including a camp T-shirt. Daily lunch is also included.

All campers must have a physical examination prior to camp. Print and complete this medical form for each camper and returned to the summer camp office before the first day of camp.
