Head Coach
David Miller is head coach for Penn Charter’s varsity baseball program. Prior to coming to PC in the fall of 2013, Miller was a former All-American at Clemson University and finalist for College Baseball Player of the Year in 1995 for the number-one nationally ranked Tigers. Miller, a former first-round draft pick (23rd overall) for the Cleveland Indians in 1995, played more than 10 years of professional baseball for the Indians, Philadelphia Phillies, Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburgh Pirates and Atlanta Braves. Miller has been involved in summer camps for the last eight years. He has hosted the following baseball camps: SCH Academy Hitting Camp, Chatham Anglers, Cape Cod Baseball League, Villanova, and William and Mary Baseball Camp.

The head coach will be assisted by experienced counselors and players.

Program Highlights
Instruction on hitting and pitching mechanics, position-specific defensive play, base running and bunting. Also included are skills contests, instructional videos, awards and prizes, daily games and guest speakers.

Daily offerings will include one entree (salad, sandwich or grill item) one small drink, and one snack or fruit. Cost: $6/day, $30/week. Campers are encouraged to sign up in advance if interested in this option, although cash “drop-ins” will be accepted. No refunds/credits for missed days/weeks.

Interested families may enroll in the extended-day option when registering. Campers may enroll in the Early-Bird Program, the After-Camp Program or both. Families who need this service occasionally or in an emergency must contact the director, and cash payment must be received the day the service is provided.
