Health Services and Guidelines
The school nurse, whose office is located on the ground floor of the main building, is on duty during the school day.
The Health Services section of the website contains information and resources for parents, and you are encouraged to review it so that you are aware of the resources you will find there.

Food Allergy Policy. Children are the largest population group affected by food allergies. At Penn Charter, we have instituted a team approach to educate faculty, staff and other students regarding a student’s specific food allergy.
Keeping Your Child Home. Parents are required to notify the school immediately upon diagnosis of a communicable disease: chicken pox, impetigo, conjunctivitis, strep throat and pediculosis (more about pediculosis below).
Pediculosis. Parents are responsible for checking their children weekly and notifying the school nurse immediately if head lice are found. Nits (lice eggs) must be removed before students can return to school to prevent re-infestation and spread to other students.
