Program Highlights
If you have a love of music and would like to build your own instruments, you will love this innovative camp. We will be using laser cutters, 3D printers and other tools to create ukuleles, djembe drums, flutes and other musical instruments. Students will have an opportunity to personalize the designs and learn how to use Inkscape to do some computer-aided design work. Some time will be spent learning to play the instruments we create and learning about basic music theory and the physics of sound using computers and other electronics to create sounds and music. Take your instrument home to keep!

Camp Staff
Timothy Clarke has been teaching science, math and robotics for 23 years including the last two years at Penn Charter. In college he majored in engineering and computer science, and studied the physics of music and electronic music. He has been playing trumpet for 34 years and spent last summer working with Brad Ford, the Penn Charter Upper School band director, designing and making a variety of musical instruments in the Penn Charter IdeaLab.

Lunch Option
Don't feel like packing lunch in the summertime? Try our lunch option. Campers will be served a nutritious and balanced meal with various choices. Daily offerings will include one entree (salad, sandwich or grill item) one small drink, and one snack or fruit. Cost: $6/day, $30/week. Campers are encouraged to sign up in advance if interested in this option, although cash “drop-ins” will be accepted.

Extended-Day Program
Interested families may enroll in the extended-day option by indicating so in the appropriate space on the application. Campers may enroll in the Early-Bird Program, the After-Camp Program or both. Families who need this service occasionally or in an emergency must contact the director, and cash payment must be received the day the service is provided.
Note: The After-Camp Program is not held on the last day of camp, Aug. 4.
Prices listed below apply to advanced registration only. Drop-ins accepted on a daily basis without registration for a cash fee of $15 per day, per program.
