Lacrosse Coach Tapped to Join Athletic Department
Colleen Magarity has been named Penn Charter’s new associate director of athletics. She will continue her role as head coach of girls varsity lacrosse

Magarity has been the head coach of girls lacrosse at Penn Charter since 2016. Known for her focus on positivity and what it means to be a good teammate, Magarity quickly gained the trust and support of her athletes. In 2016, Penn Charter earned third in the Inter-Ac.
The owner of a Big 4 HHH club lacrosse franchise, Magarity oversees and coaches five lacrosse teams for athletes ranging from 5th through 10th grade. Her mentorship of high school girls through the college recruiting process has led to 13 Division 1 commitments in the last two years.
Magarity was an assistant lacrosse coach for the University of Colorado from 2012 to 2015, where she assisted in recruiting, film breakdown, practice organization and all other areas of the program.
A graduate of Germantown Academy, Magarity was named Philadelphia Inquirer Athlete of the year in 2007, her senior year, and was a member of the USA U-19 Team, winning gold at the lacrosse World Cup. Magarity graduated from Northwestern University in 2011, having majored in human development and psychological services. Northwestern women’s lacrosse won the Division 1 National Championship in 2008, 2009 and 2011. She was the 2011 team captain, All-American, and was named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team.
Magarity was drafted in 2016 by the Boston Storm, a team in the nation’s first professional women’s lacrosse league.
