From the Head of School
Dear Friends,
On behalf of our students and faculty, I thank you for your generous support of the William Penn Charter School. While reviewing the range of gifts that you have made, I am struck by how the support you have provided is as broad and encompassing as Penn Charter itself.
Many Annual Fund gifts have a direct effect on our educational program. The generosity of the senior parents’ gift, for example, directly supports our faculty by providing professional development opportunities so teachers might better instruct their students. Other gifts provide new technology for the classrooms; others, deposited years ago in our endowment, have grown into transformational gifts that underwrite the cost of a Penn Charter education for all of our students and provide financial aid for our most needy families. Still other gifts have made possible important capital projects, including the new David L. Kurtz Center for the Performing Arts.
In addition to these dollar gifts, I am inspired by the level of gifts-in-kind and volunteerism that permeate our Penn Charter community. The countless hours of work by class agents, class parents, class chairs, committee chairs – and others with no official title – are unmatched and exemplary. Just as we emphasize service for our students, you have embraced service to Penn Charter by supporting our endeavors in admissions, development and community building.
No matter how small or how large the amount, whether you gave this year or established a trust many years ago, or whether you give by treasure, talent or time, I thank you for your gift. This past year, your generosity has sustained us. I am thankful for this and hope that Penn Charter will benefit from your gifts not only this year but for years to come.
Thank you,
Darryl J. Ford
Head of School
