The swimmers weren't the only ones who got wet Friday as Penn Charter's girls participated in their final Inter-Ac League meet of the season.
So did head coach Brian Hecker . . . For the best possible reason!
Hecker was doused moments after the Quakers used a 106-65 win over visiting Notre Dame Academy to complete a 6-0 march through the league and claim their FIRST outright championship. (SCH Academy does not offer girls swimming, thus the 6-0 record.)
PC won seven individual events and three relays.
Sophomore Sally Foley was the top performer in the 500-yard freestyle and 100 breaststroke, posting respective times of 5:04.08 and 1:04.78.
Also recording individual wins were junior Annika Murray in 200 free (2:05.17), soph Sam Boyes in 50 free (25.76), soph Avery Myers in diving (236.80 points), freshman Camille Weiss in 100 butterfly (58.35) and soph Sabrina Shaffer in 100 backstroke (1:03.59).
The relay wins: 200 medley in 1:51.51, 200 free in 1:47.16 and 400 free in 3:49.99. And here are the quartets, in order: eighth grader Lane Murray, Foley, junior Ayana Opong and Weiss . . . A. Murray, soph Alicia Newman, Opong and senior Greer Guyer . . . soph Gabby Lopez-Ona, junior Natalie Driscoll, Newman and senior Madison Freeland.
