Band and Chorus Returns to Kurtz

Band and Chorus Returns to Kurtz

For the first time in more than 700 days, the Upper School Symphonic Band, Charter Singers, Quakers Dozen and the Jazz Band performed in the Ball Theater of the Kurtz Center for the Performing Arts.

In a covid-safe event, students wowed the crowd with music from The Avengers and Black Panther, "Carol of the Bells", and McCartney's "Blackbird." See photos of the performances

Middle School's 7th and 8th Grade Band and Chorus also performed in Kurtz for their families and teachers before the winter break. Sixth grade's performance was filmed in advance, and shown on the big screen.

Similarly, Lower School students K-5, under the direction of Debbie Kaessaefer and Jaysen Rosario, filmed music and activities for their Winter Music Postcard. Hear the hand bells, watch fourth grade dance and sing "Sasha," a traditional folk dance, and much more from the Lower School.

See photos of Middle School, watch the sixth grade video, and enjoy the Lower School Winter Music Postcard on Penn Charter's Virtual Performances page.
