Class of 2024 Commencement

Congratulations to the Penn Charter Class of 2024, which celebrated its Commencement on Saturday, June 8 on Maguire Field surrounded by family, friends, faculty and staff.

During the ceremony, the 108 seniors heard remarks from student speakers Mac Haines and Payton Handler as well as Head of School Karen Warren Coleman. Trustee Mark Hecker OPC '99 led a scripture reading followed by silent worship in the manner of Friends. Senior class clerk Owen Miner presented the Senior Class Gift, Coleman presented the Phi Beta Kappa Award to Alexandra Will (given to the student outstanding in scholarship in the graduating class), and Alumni Society President Michelle Chaitt OPC '00 presented the PC Alumni Society Senior Award to Elizabeth Choate (given to a senior who on qualification of scholarship, character, leadership and athletic ability exemplifies the best PC type).

After the presentation of diplomas, the ceremony ended with Quakers Dozen and the Penn Charter Commencement Band performing "In My Life" by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, followed by the Penn Charter alma mater.

The Upper School's #ThisIsU/S Play Days are events focused on fostering connections across grades through fun activities during advisory periods. The first Play Day of the year, held on October 22, featured a school-wide game of Pictionary, with three more events planned for the year.
