All across campus, all eyes (protected by glasses) were on the sun to witness the majesty of the eclipse on April 8. With the next total solar eclipse not viewable from the contiguous U.S. until 2044—or when our current second graders celebrate their 10-year reunion—the momentous event presented a rare and unique real-world learning opportunity for students in all divisions. Thank you to everyone involved in organizing and facilitating the lessons and viewings, including NASA, for helping supply official eclipse safety glasses. It was an afternoon filled with awe and appreciation for our vast and beautiful universe.
