2025 Fifth Grade Moving-Up Ceremony

Students, families, friends, faculty and staff gathered at the Graham Athletics & Wellness Center to celebrate fifth grade students at their Moving-Up Ceremony on Thursday, June 5.

The ceremony began with the Handbell Choir playing "Simple Gifts," directed by Jaysen Rosario, Lower School Music Teacher. Karen Warren Coleman provided greetings and silent meditation in the manner of friends, and then Dr. Thu-Nga Morris, director of the Lower School, delivered her remarks.

Fifth grade students, including Steven Aldinger, Emi Grant, Selah Hulit, Sahana Jackson, Kennedy Johnson, Kiera Leone, Savannah Mont, Sadie Mulrain, Yahara Nuri, Gabrielle Popil, Nailah Reed, and Audrey Urban, gave their inspirational words for their classmates and shared reflections on their experiences at the the lower school.

Grayson Cohen, Dylan Onesti, John Panichello, and Analee Rodgers introduced the video presentation of the fifth grade, which featured photographs of all students when they were younger to show how much they have grown.

At the conclusion of the video, Thu-Nga Morris and Wilson Felter came up for the presentation of the fifth grade. The students all shook hands with Wilson Felter as he welcomed them to the middle school

The Penn Pals then sung "Blessing," followed by the entire fifth grade performing the Penn Charter Alma Mater, and finally "As We Leave This Friendly Place," a long-standing lower school tradition.

Congratulations to the Class of 2032!
