Fall Field Trips Connect Students with Nature

Fall Field Trips Connect Students with Nature

Penn Charter 1st and 5th grade students took advantage of the beautiful fall weather during two recent field trips that allowed them to connect with nature and learn about local ecosystems.

On Oct. 16, 5th graders ventured to Hawk Mountain Sanctuary to hike and bird-watch. The students also learned about bird species migration patterns and the natural history of the Appalachian land.

The week prior, 1st graders visited Styer Orchards, where they enjoyed a hayride, apple picking and an informative discussion on farm-related projects happening around the orchard.
