Girls soccer won the Inter-Ac on Tuesday after a 4-0 shutout against Notre Dame, earning the fourth league title for PC’s girls soccer program since 2013. For this season, the team has an outstanding record of 9-1-1 in the Inter-Ac and 14-1-1 overall.
Ally Paul scored the Quaker’s first goal on a penalty kick with 26 minutes left in the first half. In the second half, sophomore Janae Stewart scored with an assist from junior Sara Shipon. Freshman Lauren Anderson claimed the Quaker's third goal. The next goal was an own goal that raised the final score to 4-0. Junior Riley McDade defended the net during the PC shutout. The Quakers will test their skill at the state level in the upcoming PAISAA tournament, where they are the number one seed, earning a first-round bye. They will play at home on Nov. 6 against the winner of the Notre Dame vs Friends Central game. Their championship win was featured on Philly.com. See photos of the team in action earlier this season.
Boys soccer tied Malvern 1-1 in a close match on Maguire Field Tuesday. The scoreboard remained blank until Malvern scored a goal with 15 minutes left in the game. PC senior Billy Melnick answered soon after, tying the game with eight minutes remaining. Senior Kyle Earley defended the Quakers’ net, securing a draw for the third time this season. The Quakers earned the fourth seed on the boys side of the PAISAA soccer tournament and will host Perkiomen Prep on Maguire Field Nov. 2 at 3:30 pm. The winner will advance to play the winner of Hill School v. Friends Central.
Boys golf came in fifth at the PAISAA championships on Monday. Sophomore Patrick Isztwan led the Quakers, finishing fourth overall. The team competes with Germantown Academy on Tuesday, Nov. 6, for the first point of the 132nd PC/GA Day.
Boys water polo lost to Malvern 10-5 in the Graham Athletics Center on Tuesday. Boys water polo will participate in Easterns this weekend, at the Baldwin School. Their first game will be on Saturday at 10:00 am vs the Gonzaga/Landon winner.
Girls water polo will host Easterns as the number two seed and will play at 11:00 am. vs Hill on Sunday, Nov 4.
Field hockey lost to Notre Dame on Tuesday. Their season continues with the PAISAA Field Hockey tournament at the Academy of the New Church on Nov. 2, game time 3:30 pm. The winner of that game will play top seed GA on Monday, Nov. 5, in the second round.
