Girls Swimming & Diving Wins Second Consecutive Inter-Ac Title

In a high-stakes meet on Tuesday, the girls swimming and diving team beat Agnes Irwin and secured the Inter-Ac Championship for the second year in a row. The Quakers swam to a comfortable victory and finished their regular

season undefeated. Junior Sally Foley's win in the 500 Freestyle was a highlight from the day. Foley was on pace to break the team and pool record, but just missed the mark previously set by junior Camille Weiss. Meanwhile, Weiss showed off her talents in other events on Tuesday, claiming first place wins in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke. Junior Avery Myers captured another first-place finish on the diving board and contributed to victories in all three relays. Tuesday also served as a day to recognize PC seniors for their contributions to the swimming and diving program. Bianca Bryant, Natalie Driscoll, Annika Murray and Ayana Opong were honored before the game, and finish their PC swimming careers as back-to-back league champions.

The small but mighty boys swimming and diving team lost to defending Easterns champions Haverford. The boys had many strong swims, but couldn't earn enough points to win the day. Junior Cooper Berkoff secured a second-place win in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle, and freshman Tyler Juskalian won the 100 Backstroke outright. Another big win came from sophomore Henry Langford, who dove his way to a first place finish in the diving competition. In a tight race, freshman Liam McLafferty was able to finish strong in the 500 and touch out his Haverford opponent while swimming to a personal best. Unfortunately, the Haverford team was too deep for the PC boys to overcome, but the Quakers head into the Inter-Ac Championships and Easterns next week with confidence.

Girls squash picked up a 6-3 victory over Shipley on Tuesday. The Quakers sat their top two players and still manged to secure the win, proving the team's considerable depth. In individual matches, senior Alexa Lenfest, senior Mia Bezar and sophomore Evie Eisenstein all had shutout wins. Senior Hatti Specter secured a hard-earned point in PC's number two spot, winning 14-12 in the fifth game of her match. Sophomore Nezzie Alexanian won 3-1 in the Quakers' number four spot, and sophomore Makayla Fradin won 3-1 at number seven. The girls will test their talent at nationals beginning Feb. 1.

Girls basketball beat Agnes Irwin with an impressive final score of 62-22 on Tuesday. Junior Carmen Williams had another big game, leading the offense with 15 points, three assists and four rebounds. Senior Emma Maley made a splash with 10 points, three assists and three rebounds. Junior Kait Carter had eight points, six rebounds and six assists, and junior Hayley Hunt had seven points and five rebounds. The Quakers are 18-3 overall and 5-1 in the Inter-Ac. They continue their excellent season on Jan. 25 in Dooney Field House against league challenger Springside Chestnut Hill.
