Redesigning the Bell Tower

"Redesigning" the Bell Tower

The banners that adorn campus this year were inspired by the artwork of last year's fifth grade students, the Class of 2020.

In Lower School art last year, fifth graders were asked to put a creative twist on Penn Charter's iconic bell tower. Students worked collaboratively to brainstorm possibilities, develop ideas and illustrate solutions. They used paint, drawing, collage techniques and other methods to execute their one-of-a-kind designs.

Our new campus banners, featuring the words of William Penn, "Do Good with What Thou Hast," showcase two of the redesigned bell towers, chosen because they reproduced well for this medium. Enjoy this slideshow of all eight of the bell tower designs.

This year, Penn Charter is beginning a two-year celebration of the 325th founding of Penn's school and Quaker education in America.
