Thoughtful Design

The Upper, Middle and Lower school divisions operate in their own buildings, each of which is designed to meet students' academic and developmental needs.  Chigwell Close, the open space between the Lower School and the main building, is an outdoor classroom, a place where students can learn science, write poetry, play, explore or simply enjoy a peaceful interlude.

State-of-the-Art Facilities

Student players and performers have access to resources that match their talents.

With a total of four buildings designated for sports, Penn Charter offers athletes three grass playing fields, three synthetic turf fields, one eight-lane all-weather track, seven tennis courts, ten squash courts, four competition basketball courts, one climbing wall and one swimming pool.

The William A. Graham IV OPC '58 Athletics & Wellness Center completed in 2021 features two competition basketball courts, a wrestling room, a bi-level fitness and strength training room, a rock wall, an athletics training suite, two classrooms and a multipurpose space. The Graham also houses the Athletics offices, locker rooms, equipment room and other offices.

The David L. Kurtz Performing Arts Center which opened in 2010 is a LEED certified building with a green roof and features a 650-seat theater, hydraulic orchestra pit lift, sprung dance floor, choral room and performance studio, instrumental room with four individual practice rooms, recording studio, scene shop and costume room.
