Around Campus
The Upper, Middle and Lower Schools enjoy ample space in their own buildings, each thoughtfully designed to meet students' academic and developmental needs. The buildings create an academic village, flanked by the state-of-the-art performing arts and athletics facilities.
Main Building and Upper School
Penn Charter's Main Building bears the school's iconic clock tower. Upper School classrooms, the Meeting Room, Upper and Middle School Admissions Office, and Head of School and other administrative offices are located here. Also in the main building: College Counseling, Gummere Library, art rooms, and, in the lower level, the school bookstore, dining hall, health office, and the Math and Writing Centers.
Richard B. Fisher Middle School
The Middle School building, completed in 2002, houses grades 6-8. Light-filled with large classrooms and science labs, middle school students enjoy a space all their own. The IdeaLab is in the basement.
Balderston Lower School
The Richard A. Balderston OPC ’69 Lower School reflects Penn Charter’s commitment to academic excellence. At 78,000 square feet, it is the capstone of our campus transformation. The building brings the pre-K through grade 5 community together under one roof.
Graham Athletics & Wellness Center
The William A. Graham IV OPC ’58 Athletics & Wellness Center (known as the Graham) is a vibrant 88,000-square-foot facility that amplifies athletics and wellness.
- Fitness and cardio center for strength, conditioning and weight training
- Training suite with hydrotherapy for the evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of our student-athletes
- Nutrition bar
- Wrestling room
- Basketball courts for team practice and PE that convert to competition courts
- 40' indoor rock climbing wall
- Multipurpose room, classroom space, student and coach lockers, meeting spaces
Kurtz Center for the Performing Arts
The Kurtz Center, a LEED Gold building with a green or vegetated roof, is home to plays, musicals, band and choral concerts throughout the year. The Kurtz Center has a choral room and performance studio, an instrumental room with four individual practice rooms, a scene shop, a costume room and dressing rooms.
Graham Athletics Center
The Graham Athletics Center is home to the Penn Charter pool, a basketball court, and girls and boys locker rooms.
Chigwell Close
Chigwell Close, behind the Main Building, is used as an outdoor classroom, gathering spot, place to study and relax, and a pathway across campus.
