Find the Class of 2022 timeline below, which begins when the students are juniors.

Class of 2022

NOVEMBER 2020 

  • Junior Seminar begins for Q2

  • Students begin work in Naviance 

DECEMBER 2020

  • December 1 - College Kickoff Program for Class of 2022 Parents, 7pm (virtual) 

  • December 5 – SAT only

  • December 7-  PSAT results available

  • December 12 – ACT only 

  • Parents begin work in Naviance 

  • Junior Seminar continues

  • December 19 - January 3 - WINTER BREAK

JANUARY 2021

  • January 8 - registration deadline for February 6 ACT

  • January 19 - Meet and Greet with Eric Furda

  • Individual student appointments with college counselor begin (in person or virtually)

  • Junior Seminar continues until end of Q2

FEBRUARY 2021

  • February 6 – ACT only 

  • February 12 – registration deadline for March 13 SAT

  • February 25 - College Case Studies program for 11th grade students and parents, 7pm (virtual)

  • Visit colleges over Presidents’ Day Weekend, if possible, or attend virtual Open Houses

  • Individual student appointments with college counselor continue

  • Family conferences with college counselor begin (virtual)

MARCH1 2021

  • March 12 - registration deadline for April 17 ACT

  • March 13 – SAT only

  • Family conferences continue

  • March 25 – April 5 - SPRING BREAK – Visit colleges, if possible 

APRIL 2021

  • April 8- registration deadline for May 8 SAT or SAT Subject Tests 

  • April 13 -  College Counseling Keynote 

  • April 17 – ACT 

  • Family conferences continue virtually 

MAY 2021

  • May  - AP exam administration 

  • May 6- registration deadline for June 5 SAT 

  • May 7 - registration deadline for June 12 ACT 

  • May 8 – SAT or SAT Subject Tests 

  • May 18 - Philadelphia Independent School sponsored virtual college fair. 6pm-8pm

  • Request two (2) letters of recommendation from eleventh grade teachers 

JUNE 2021

  • Deadline to request two (2) teacher letters of recommendation prior to close of school 

  • June 5 – SAT 

  • June 12 – ACT  (PC’s 2021 Commencement is also this day.)

  • June 15 - College Essay Writing program  with the University of Chicago admissions director, 6:30pm (virtual)

  • June 18 – registration deadline for July 18 ACT

  • SUMMER BREAK - Visit colleges, if possible, and/or attend virtual admissions programs

JULY 2021

  • College Counseling Office will be open - email to check director’s availability

  • July 17 – ACT 

  • July 18 – Registration deadline for August SAT 

  • SUMMER BREAK - Visit Colleges, if possible and/or attend virtual programs

AUGUST 2021

  • August 6 - Registration deadline for September ACT

  • August 25 - Common Application Workshop with College Counseling Team, 12pm-2pm

  • August 27 - College Essay Workshop with Writing Center faculty, 1-3pm

  • August 28 - SAT

  • Begin Common Application, www.commonapp.org

  • Outline and draft essay topics

  • SUMMER BREAK - Visit Colleges

SEPTEMBER 2021

  • Senior Seminar begins

  • Students refine working list of colleges with “September Information Update”

  • Individual student conferences; family conferences as neede

  • September 3 -  registration deadline for October SAT 

  • September 9 – Nuts & Bolts Evening Program for Class of 2022 Parents, 7pm

  • September 11  – ACT 

  • September 17 - registration deadline for October ACT

  • College admissions representatives conduct high school visits with seniors (virtual and/or in person depending on guidelines)

  • Student access to Naviance is switched to “view only” capability

  • Students begin submitting “Pink Sheets” (transcript request form) to their counselors 

  • Confirm two (2) teacher recommendations 

OCTOBER 2021

  • Individual student conferences continue

  • October 1 - Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) available to file as required

  • October 1 - CSS Financial Aid Profile available to file as required

  • October 2 – SAT  

  • October 8  - registration deadline for November SAT 

  • October 23 - ACT

  • College admissions representatives continue to do in person or virtual visits with seniors

  • Prepare Early Decision, Early Action, and Rolling applications

  • Students continue to submit “Pink Sheets” (transcript request form)

  • Senior Seminar continues through Q1

NOVEMBER 2021

  • Individual student conferences continue

  • November 1 & 15- Early Decision/Early Action deadlines. 

  • November 2: FAFSA completion program hosted by PHEAA, PA Higher Education Assistance Agency

  • November 4 - registration deadline for December SAT 

  • November 5 - registration deadline for December ACT

  • November 6 - SAT 

  • November TBD – Financial Aid program, Philadelphia Independent School families (virtual)

  • College admissions representatives continue to do in person or virtual visits with seniors

  • Students finalize list of colleges with “November Information Update”

  • Students complete applications

  • Students continue to submit “Pink Sheets” (transcript request form)

  • File FAFSA as required 

  • File CSS Profile as required

DECEMBER 2021

  • Individual student conferences continue

  • Students continue to submit “Pink Sheets” (transcript request form) to counselors

  • December 1- Early Action deadlines

  • December 4 - SAT 

  • December 11 – ACT 

  • December 15  - Early decision notifications arrive in mid-December over a two week period

  • December 18 - January 2 - WINTER BREAK 

JANUARY 2022

  • January 1 & 15 Regular Decision deadlines

  • File financial aid forms as required 

  • Students confirm list of colleges with “January Information Update”

FEBRUARY 2022

  •   The great wait begins!  Keep us informed of all developments.

MARCH 2022

  •   Admissions decisions begin to arrive from colleges

APRIL 2022

  •  Admissions decisions continue to arrive from colleges

  • Attend accepted student programs

MAY 2022

  • May 1 - National Candidates’ Reply Date. Enrollment deposit at one college must be submitted by this date.

JUNE 2022

  • June 11 - Graduation, OPC!
