Auxiliary Programs

Auxiliary Programs at Penn Charter provide a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for Lower School students and their families during after-school hours, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Families may enroll in the After-School Program (ASP), the After-School Program Complement (ASPC) and a range of Enrichment offerings.

After-School Program

Following a full academic day, the After-School Program (ASP) provides time and space for friends, recreation and relaxation in an engaging environment that supports continued learning and growth.

Through a thoughtfully structured setting, students are given meaningful choices among activities that foster social, emotional, physical and intellectual development. Each child is encouraged to create a daily mix of fun, movement, creativity and interaction that supports their overall well-being—mind, body and spirit.

ASP runs from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. for 1.5-hour contracts and from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. for 3-hour contracts. Families may enroll on a full-time or part-time basis for the academic year.

Have questions about ASP? Please contact the After-School team.

After-School Program Complement

The After-School Program Complement (ASPC) offers students in grades pre-K through 2 the opportunity to participate in engaging classes, including creative movement, soccer, gymnastics and cooking. Each class runs for seven to eight weeks during the various after-school sessions.

Penn Charter partners with local Philadelphia community music schools, sports outreach programs and dance academies to provide high-quality enrichment experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity and skill development.

Enrichment Program

Students in Grades 3, 4 and 5

The Enrichment Program is an optional after-school opportunity offered at no additional cost to students in grades 3, 4 and 5. The program runs for seven to eight weeks, three times each year, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m.

Students may participate in intramural sports and a range of extracurricular activities—such as handbell choir, basketball and community service—which vary from year to year. Prior to each session, families will receive detailed information on the available activities.
