Breaking New Ground

In about 14 months, Penn Charter will celebrate the opening of a new Athletics and Wellness Center.

Designed with superior facilities to support physical education, health, sports and training, the center will promote fitness and fortify the PC athletics legacy.

Exuberant pre-K to 12 students gathered on the site of the new center in October for a ceremonial groundbreaking. A fun video with students "passing the shovel" was a highlight. View the video and a virtual tour of the new center at

Michael Casimir OPC '09 plays for the St. Louis Orchestra and can be heard on the new Lion King soundtrack.

Teaching Higher-Level Thinking

Penn Charter’s entire Lower School faculty has gone back to school!

Penn’s Graduate School of Education is honing the teachers’ knowledge of project-based learning, a pedagogy that uses long-term projects to teach not only curriculum but problem solving, critical thinking and collaboration.

Penn customized the program for PC teachers, recognizing that many of them are already using project-based learning (PBL) in their classrooms. The World Peace Game in fourth grade is just one example.

Faculty in their Own Words

In a Instagram series #PCFacultyProfiles, Penn Charter teachers talk about what enlivens them about teaching at the school, and about how professional development impacts their curriculum.
