Run for Peace 2021
The 16th annual Run for Peace – run your own way!
Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021
- Local? Join us on Saturday, Sept. 18, at 8:45 a.m. as we recognize the 20-year anniversary of 9/11 and honor Peter K. Ortale OPC ‘83 and Kenny Caldwell OPC ‘89, who were lost in the 2001 World Trade Center attack. We are excited to come together as a community to promote peace and celebrate the lives of Kenny and Peter. All in-person attendees will receive a limited edition Run for Peace T-shirt!
- Out-of-town? Good news: the virtual Run for Peace returns! Follow us @penncharteropc on Instagram for a 9 a.m. ET “start,” but you have all day and until noon ET on Sunday to participate by sending or sharing your #PCrun4peace pics. Don’t forget to tag us @penncharteropc on Instagram and Twitter. All virtual participants will receive our Run for Peace gaiter. Register by Sept. 5 to receive – and then rock – your gaiter on race day!
Even apart, we will all be united. Join us as we honor Peter K. Ortale OPC '83, Kenny Caldwell OPC '89 and all who were lost on 9/11.
The Run for Peace supports two endowed funds.
Peter K. Ortale OPC '83 Scholarship Fund. The fund seeks to provide tuition assistance to an Upper School student who, like Peter, exhibits the qualities of the scholar-athlete and demonstrates a high level of motivation, self-reliance and leadership, both in the classroom and on the playing field.
Kenny Caldwell OPC '89 Memorial Scholarship Fund. This scholarship seeks to bring to Penn Charter a student who exemplifies Kenny's upbeat personality, appreciation for city life, and commitment to positively influencing others.
