Run for Peace 2020
The 15th annual Run for Peace is virtual this year, with members of the Penn Charter community from all over the country – and the world – invited to participate!
Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020
- Start at 9 a.m. on Sept. 12. Choose your distance, choose your pace. The Run for Peace will not be timed – unless you time yourself for a PR! – and there will be no placements.
- Follow us @penncharteropc on Instagram and Twitter for a 9 a.m. ET “start” but you have all day and until 12 p.m. ET on Sunday to participate by sharing your #PCrun4peace photos. Don’t forget to tag us @penncharteropc.
- Every registrant who pays the entry fee will receive a limited-edition Run for Peace gaiter. Register below by Aug. 30 so that you receive it in time and rock your gaiter on race day! If you register after Aug. 30, you'll receive a gaiter after the event.
Even apart, we will all be united. Join us as we honor Peter K. Ortale OPC '83, Kenny Caldwell OPC '89 and all who were lost on 9/11.
The Run for Peace supports two endowed funds.
Peter K. Ortale OPC '83 Scholarship Fund. The fund seeks to provide tuition assistance to an Upper School student who, like Peter, exhibits the qualities of the scholar-athlete and demonstrates a high level of motivation, self-reliance and leadership, both in the classroom and on the playing field.
Kenny Caldwell OPC '89 Memorial Scholarship Fund. This scholarship seeks to bring to Penn Charter a student who exemplifies Kenny's upbeat personality, appreciation for city life, and commitment to positively influencing others.
