Girls basketball had a great showing at the PAISAA Tournament this weekend where they fell to Abington Friends in the championship round.

In the semifinals on Friday, the Quakers beat Notre Dame 70-61 with senior guards Carmen Williams (18 points) and Kait Carter (14 points) leading the way. After two hard-fought quarters of play, the Quakers entered the third with a narrow 35-32 lead before outscoring the Irish in the next two frames.

In the championship game on Saturday, the Quakers lost 65-59 in a well played game against AFS. Charter held Abington to a narrow lead until the Kangaroos began to pull away late in the third quarter, finally securing a double-digit lead in the fourth. The Quakers cut it to a five point game with 1:16 left on the clock. Williams (16), Carter (14), Aleah Snead (14) and Kelsey Bess (7) put in standout performances as the Quakers concluded their excellent 25-4 season.

The girls indoor track team wrapped up its season with several top-10 finishes at the DVGTCA Meet of Champions on Friday at Lehigh University. Senior Payton Parker placed fifth in the 200 Meter (26.33) and eighth in the 400 Meter (1:00.88). The 4X400 Meter team of Parker, Sara Shipon, Elena Coupas and Charlotte Hodgson came in fourth (4:03.83), and sophomore Olivia Montini finished ninth in the 3000 Meter with a time of 11:06.33.

The boys indoor track team competed in the TFCAofGP Meet of Champions on Saturday at Lehigh where two Quakers broke the top-3 in their events. Senior Pat Fehm won silver in the High Jump (6' 3") and silver in the Triple Jump (45' 10"), and senior Akeel Blake won bronze in the Long Jump (22' 07.5") and bronze in the Triple Jump (44' 11"). Junior Oliver Leedale-Brown finished fifth in the 800 Meter with a time of 1:59.6.

The boys and girls squash teams competed at Nationals this weekend in Hartford, Conn., earning a combined total that put them in the top 36 in the US. The girls finished 14th in Division 1 and the boys finished fourth in Division 3 after a great win against the number one seed.
