Wrestling went 0-2 this weekend but saw strong performances on the mat from the team's upperclassmen. During Friday's Senior Night, the Quakers won six of eight individual bouts against Norristown but lost the match on forfeited weight classes. All three seniors came away with victories: Matt McGlinchey won by fall in 4:21, Johnny Giuffrida won by major decision at 12-2, and Jess Anderson won by technical fall at 27-2. The remainder of the Quakers' points came from junior Danny Bach, who won by fall in 1:21; junior Jack Glomb, who won by 5-3 decision; and freshman George Glomb, who won by fall in 51 seconds. In a 46-30 loss to Lawrenceville on Saturday, Jack Glomb's 53-second win by fall was a match highlight for PC. The Quakers travel to Westtown this Friday for their next tournament.
Boys basketball lost in a heartbreaking 72-67 finish against Springside Chestnut Hill during Friday's Senior Night celebration in Dooney Field House. The Blue Devils put 27 points on the board during the fourth quarter, finally overtaking the Quakers in the last six minutes of play after trailing for most of the game. Senior Aaron Reisman hit six three-pointers in the first half and tied with an SCH player for a game-high 24 points. Freshman Mark Butler added 17 points and senior Ryan Holmes added 16 during the Quakers' final Inter-Ac game of the season.
Girls indoor track and field traveled to Lehigh University for the seventh DVGTCA meet of the season on Friday. Junior Peyton Parker placed fifth in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 59.03, and junior Milan Poland finished sixth in the 300 Meter Dash with a time of 45.42.
