Color Day 2020
The tradition lives on — online!
Penn Charter celebrated the 127th Color Day, virtually. This friendly competition has been part of the Penn Charter normal since Isaac Porter, PC physical education and art teacher, conceived of the Blue vs. Yellow challenge in the 1890s.
Our current-day Physical Education department led the design of a virtual Color Day. Teachers encouraged Spirit Weeks in Lower and Middle School, complete with exercises and challenges students could do at home. Upper School students gathered by grade on Google Meet for workouts and fun, staged competitions.
And on Friday, May 22, 2020, the PC community gathered on this website, on Facebook and on Instagram and Twitter @penncharter and @penncharteropc to celebrate Color Day and experience the joy this day brings to Penn Charter, even in these toughest of times.
There were no losers, no winners. The 127th Color Day was preordained a tie.
