The 18th Annual Run for Peace
Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023 at 8:45 a.m.
Please join us as we honor two Penn Charter heroes, Peter K. Ortale OPC ’83 and Kenny M. Caldwell OPC ’89, who both lost their lives on 9/11.
On Saturday, October 21 at 8:45 a.m. our community will pay tribute to all those lost on 9/11, and celebrate the lives of Peter and Kenny.

Event Details
- Registration opens at 8:00 a.m.
- Parking is available in the new Upper School temporary lot, Kurtz Center, and Strawbridge campus.
- School House Lane main driveway will close at 8:35 a.m. and reopen after the run. Alternative parking options are available at the Timmons House and Middle School lots.
We Remember
The Run for Peace supports two endowed funds in honor of Peter K. Ortale OPC '83 and Kenny Caldwell OPC '89.
Peter K. Ortale OPC '83 Scholarship Fund. The fund seeks to provide tuition assistance to an Upper School student who, like Peter, exhibits the qualities of the scholar-athlete and demonstrates a high level of motivation, self-reliance and leadership, both in the classroom and on the playing field.
Kenny Caldwell OPC '89 Memorial Scholarship Fund. This scholarship seeks to bring to Penn Charter a student who exemplifies Kenny's upbeat personality, appreciation for city life, and commitment to positively influencing others.
