Today at Penn Charter Back on Campus
Tuesday, Sept. 8 marked the first official day of the 2020-21 school year, and though teaching and learning look very different at PC right now, our sense of community remains unchanged. Excitement was in the air as students in grades pre-K to 2 returned to campus for the first time since March. (View photos.) Grades 3-12 began their first day of distance learning, and have begun transitioning to a hybrid model this week. Return-to-school details. School Year Theme: Equity and Empathy
Darryl J. Ford Hon. 1689 shared his virtual welcome message with the Penn Charter community as students prepared to begin the 2020-21 school year. He introduced the themes for this year, Equity and Empathy, and how they prompt our community to think about how we treat each other and how to learn to truly empathize with others.

Events Recap Run for Peace
The 2020 Run for Peace, while virtual, was a great success! On Sept. 12, close to 200 participants from all over the U.S., even across oceans, honored Peter K. Ortale OPC '83 and Kenny Caldwell OPC '89. With each mile tracked and with each selfie snapped, we shared stories and remembered why days like this are so important for all of us. Check out some of these stories and pictures in the 2020 Run for Peace photo album.
The 15th annual Run for Peace helped raise more than $17,000 for Penn Charter students in honor of Kenny and Peter. Thank you to all who participated!
