Dear Middle School Families,
Wilson Felter Director of Middle School
Here is the schedule for the next two weeks that we shared with you last week. One important change is that we have shifted dismissal time in Middle School to 2:40 p.m. in anticipation of the larger volume of vehicular traffic on campus and so that we can dismiss as safely and efficiently as possible in concert with the other two divisions. As a quick reminder, grade 8 grade is on campus on Tuesday; grade 7 on Wednesday; grade 6 on Thursday; and all three grades on Friday.
On your child's designated in-person school day, he or she should bring…
Arrival and Dismissal For arrival, we ask that Middle School families arrive no earlier than 8:00 a.m., and our first class begins at 8:30 a.m. Families traveling by car can drop their child off at the MS circle. Please follow the newly painted lane lines for "drop off" and "through lane." Parents are not permitted to exit vehicles. Students should proceed to their designated entrance, which we reviewed with them already, and we will have adults on hand to direct them if they forget. Students arriving by bus should proceed directly to their designated entrance. See a map.
Families who have opted to have their child continue to learn virtually when we begin in-person learning should follow the same schedule as above, and your child should enter the class virtually using the Google Meet link on each teacher's Hub page.
Last week, Brad Schoener shared our plans for band and instrumental arts in 2020-21, and this week Debbie Kaesshaefer and Joseph Fitzmartin share plans for choral arts in the Middle School in 2020-21.
Students who arrive to school late should report to the divisional office, and we ask that parents and caregivers remain in their cars. Students will be required to scan their bag tag with QR code at the front reception desk prior to proceeding to their class. (Front desk personnel will contact the health office at ext. 142 if there are issues with verification.)
Early Departure Parents and caregivers need to contact the divisional office to make arrangements. Students must sign out at the divisional office before departing.
Materials Drop-Off (Forgotten lunches, books or other supplies) Due to our no-visitor policy, we cannot allow parents and caregivers to enter the buildings. Outside each divisional main entrance, there will be a plastic bin labeled "Materials Drop-Off." Parents should call their child's divisional office to notify them that an item has been placed in the bin, and then we will ensure the item is passed along to the student. |
