The Alumni Society's signature event to kick off 2023! 

The entire Penn Charter community is invited to the Downtown Reception on Thursday, Jan. 26 at the Down Town Club by Cescaphe. (600 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA. Complimentary valet parking.)

This year, we are pleased to welcome esteemed alumnus, Barnes Hauptfuhrer OPC '72 as our guest speaker. Barnes – scholar-athlete, retired financial executive, community advocate, and most recently author of Teamball – will share how Penn Charter, the institution, the people and the values have helped him live a life that makes a difference.

Dr. Darryl J. Ford Hon. 1689 will also share updates about Penn Charter as he celebrates the final months of his tenure as Head of School.

Finally, we are pleased to announce that our next Head of School Dr. Karen Warren Coleman will join us to experience her first PC community event.

The OPC community is remarkable. In each OPC Spirit we recognize just some of the recent accomplishments of our alumni.

Kaitlynn Haughey OPC '21 was named first team All-American for West Chester University Women's Soccer. 

Internal communications leader at Guru, Julia Soffa OPC '04 is passionate about shaping the knowledge management platform's digital future for employees.

Aaron Carter OPC '98, sportswriter for the Inquirer, wrote an article about how Kai Shinholster, sophomore guard for the boys basketball team, is making an impact for the Quakers!

Congrats to Craig Sabatino OPC '74 and his company INTECH Construction! INTECH's work on the Graham Athletics & Wellness Center won the General Contractors Association 2022 Facilities of Merit Award.

Jake Nicastro OPC '18 created a website to display his work as an independent filmmaker, editor, actor, and production assistant.

Campus Corner

OPCs come back to Penn Charter

Natalie Hogan OPC '03, Chief Operating Officer and Co-founder of hOS, visited the Women in Business Club (WIBC) to share about her career and how she leads through confidence and collaboration in a male-dominated AI industry.

JD Dillard OPC '06, the director of "Devotion" (in theaters now) spoke with Middle School students during a morning assembly and Upper School students during a special lunch on Dec. 6. He also visited classrooms, including an English class taught by his former English teacher Liz Jones. During his time at Penn Charter, JD worked on 100+ video projects and called filmmaking his "most important activity." 

Tika von Mehren OPC '11 visited Eva Kay Noone's costume design class to discuss being a costumer for film and TV.
