Dear Parents and Caregivers,

 

Below are the transportation options available to students for the 2023-24 school year. Families may mix and match some transportation options. The deadline to register for most bus transportation options is Friday, June 16.

Philadelphia School District Bus

  • Philadelphia residents, grades 1-8, no charge.
  • Families may mix and match transportation options. For example, on the electronic form you may sign up for the Philadelphia School District bus for the morning ride, and plan to use the the Penn Charter bus in the afternoon, or vice versa.
  • Register here before June 16.

 

SEPTA Student Key Card

  • Philadelphia residents, grades 9-12, no charge.
  • Register here before June 16.

 

Suburban School District Bus

  • Available in these school districts: Abington, Cheltenham, Colonial, Haverford, Lower Merion, Lower Moreland, Marple Newtown, Radnor, Springfield (MC), Upper Darby, Upper Dublin, Upper Merion, Upper Moreland, William Penn, Wissahickon.
  • Grades PK/K-12, no charge.
  • Several school districts require a two-step process. For Cheltenham, Colonial, Lower Merion, Radnor, Upper Darby, Upper Dublin and Upper Moreland you must first sign up with Penn Charter and then visit your district's website to complete the second step. 
  • Register here before June 16.

 

Penn Charter Bus

  • Door-to-door service to select routes in Center City, and a shuttle service with defined pickup and drop-off locations in New Jersey.
  • Families may mix and match transportation options. For example, on the form you may sign up for the Penn Charter bus for the morning ride, and plan to use the Center City Shuttle in the afternoon.
  • Grades PK-12.
  • Departure from PC after school at 3:10 p.m., as well as a late bus option departing at 5:30 p.m.

Penn Charter Center City Shuttle (afternoon only)

  • Due to a shortage of bus drivers, we cannot guarantee a Center City Shuttle. We are actively trying to secure a driver and ask that you sign up if interested. If we cannot provide a Center City Shuttle, pay-as-you-go afternoon bus service will be provided by our Penn Charter PM bus, detailed above.
  • Pay-as-you-go service to Center City, one trip per week, or 10 trips, or anything in-between.
  • Grades PK-12.
  • Departure from PC at 5:30 p.m. If an additional driver can be hired, PC hopes to offer a 4:45 p.m. shuttle.
