Ci'Nya Vincent, a senior at PC, was recently named vice president of the NAACP Youth Council in Philadelphia.

Her leadership at PC began early; she was an assistant stage manager for the 2019 Middle School Variety Show production in eighth grade, her first year in the school. Four years later, she's leading in a different capacity as the president of PC's Black Student Union.

For the NAACP Youth Council, Ci'Nya recently helped organize a premiere of the new hit movie The Woman King, which honors women who serve in the Philadelphia community.

As a public speaker, Ci'Nya advocates against gun violence and shares the impact it has had on her family. As part of that work, she also speaks to groups about mental health, self-worth and self-esteem. She is looking forward to bringing a program on those topics to PC's Middle School and to other schools in the area.

After an inspiring experience at the NAACP conference last summer hearing from youth leaders and peers, Ci'Nya is motivated to do even more. "I like helping people, especially kids my age," she said, "and sharing the outlets and interests I have with others."

Ci'Nya's other interests include sports photography, history and public speaking.

"Ci'Nya is always doing something," Miriam Stewart said about her classmate and friend, "and it is always beneficial."
