Golf Outing Honors Bert Linton

More than 80 golfers, including OPCs, Penn Charter current parents, parents of alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the school turned out Oct. 28 for the 25th Bert Linton Golf Outing.

The annual event, held this year at Philadelphia Cricket Club, honors legendary math teacher M. Albert Linton Hon. 1689.  Proceeds support the Alumni Society and its events for the 2012-2013 academic year.

“The club services were top notch and everyone raved about the condition of the Militia Hill course,” reflected Alumni Society President Pete Davis OPC ’74.

Tuesday’s outing was a reschedule from last May’s rained-out event. “For those original May players who could not manage to reschedule, we hope to see you on Monday, May 13, 2013 for the 26th playing of this fantastic event!” Davis said. “It is always a wonderful day full of golf, fun and Penn Charter spirit.”  Photos.

Davis extended his thanks for the success of the event to Golf Chair Matt Killinger OPC '85, Brian Cash OPC '00, Bill Gallagher OPC '91, along with Ted Decker OPC '78 and especially Jack Rogers Hon. 1689.  Special thanks to Allan Brown Hon. 1689 and the following generous sponsors: INTECH, Culinart Inc., Heathland Hospitality, Public Financial Management, Don Rosen Imports and General Building Contractors Association.

Information on the golf outing and other alumni events is posted on the Alumni Calendar.
