RSVP for the Downtown Reception

A Night at the Museum

The Alumni Society invites parents, OPCs and friends to enjoy a Night at the Museum on Thursday, Jan. 28, at the Franklin Institute.

"This annual event," said Head of School Darryl J. Ford, "is always a welcome opportunity to celebrate Penn Charter, enjoy an evening with PC friends, and hear from an accomplished and insightful keynote speaker."

This year's keynote speaker, Sozi Pedro Tulante, is Philadelphia's new city solicitor in Mayor Jim Kenney's administration. Born in Zaire (now Democratic Republic of Congo), he came to Philadelphia as a political refugee in 1983 with his family. He went on to graduate from Harvard College and Harvard Law.

Tulante, who is a PC parent, now represents Philadelphia in all lawsuits, advises the mayor, City Council, and departments, agencies and commissions of the city, while also overseeing the 200-lawyer law department. He also teaches legal ethics at the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

The Penn Charter community is invited to hear Tulante's story and to enjoy an evening with friends at a city landmark, the Franklin Institute. Walk through the iconic Giant Heart. Explore the Changing Earth. Create a spark of Electricity. Exhibits will be open!  Details and RSVP.
