On March 15, 2019, Penn Charter Upper School students participated in a climate march at City Hall. This was part of a global student strike inspired by Greta Thunberg who, at the age of 15, has started a school strike in Sweden against the government inaction in dealing with our planet’s climate crisis. Penn Charter senior Hadley B. was chosen as the MC of the gathering, and students and faculty alike attended the rally at City Hall.
This and other student-led action demonstrates our Quaker commitment to speaking truth to power and embodies the testimonies of stewardship and justice.
