Inter-Ac Champions!
The girls varsity basketball team won the Inter-Academic League championship for the first time since 1996. The team, 11-1 in league play and 18-4 overall, defeated Episcopal Academy with a resounding 63-32. This 2021-22 season was coach Joe Maguire's sixth at Penn Charter, and the championship game was his 117th win at the school. Adding to the special moment, the girls varsity team played the first home game in the Graham on Dec. 1, 2021, which was also the first win in the new building. Winning the Inter-Ac marks the first league title in the space.
The same afternoon, the boys varsity basketball squad traveled to Springside Chestnut Hill and came home with a win and the title of co-champions of the Inter-Ac. The team shares the 2021-22 title with Malvern Prep. The team finished 8-2 in the league and 20-4 overall. Strong play from each of the starters and the depth in the bench contributed to the excellent record and shared title.
