Color Day Comes Down to the Wire!

This year’s Color Day competition brought crowds of parents, family members and alumni to enjoy the friendly rivalry between the Blue and the Yellow teams. The Penn Charter Family Association provided the volunteers and the treats, from burgers to popcorn to ice cream, donuts, hot dogs and tomato pie.

The competition was fierce, with the 10th grade relay race so close the refs needed to check camera footage to see who won. The Yellow team took that race, but the Blue team made a comeback with the remaining Upper School events. Then it all came down to the senior rope pull, bringing the final score to 22-16, Blue taking the win. Congratulations, Blue!

Color Day was first established in 1892, and 2025 marks the 120th year that Color Day has been held on the Pinehurst campus. Check out more photos.
