Photos and Video: 131st OPC Weekend

Hundreds of graduate returned to campus for the 131st Old Penn Charter Weekend on May 3 and 4, reconnecting with former classmates and educators during events such as the Annual Awards Ceremony, campus tours, the All-School Art Show, the OPCs of Color Brunch, and athletic contests.

Reunions for classes ending in 4 and 9 attracted a large number of alumni at venues across PC and Philadelphia. Many attendees started the weekend's festivities at the Annual Awards Ceremony in the Meeting Room on May 3.

Chris Burnett, a fifth grade teacher at PC since 1997, and Sandy Carpino, the school's receptionist since 1997, received Honorary 1689 diplomas, given to members of the PC community who show extraordinary commitment to the school by demonstrating pride and excellence in the performance of their duties and by consistently providing encouragement and support to the student body.

Craig J. Sabatino OPC '74 received the David P. Montgomery OPC '64 Alumni Award of Merit, given to a graduate whose character and outstanding achievement have reflected lasting credit upon Penn Charter.

The co-founder of INTECH Construction, Sabatino has partnered extensively with Penn Charter and many other independent schools in the region on major building initiatives. At PC, INTECH has helped bring to the life the Richard B. Fisher OPC '53 Middle School, the Kline & Specter Squash Center, the Graham Athletics & Wellness Center, and many playing fields.Currently, INTECHf is partnering with Penn Charter to build the future Richard A. Balderston OPC '69 Lower School.
