Head of School Darryl J. Ford announced a phased reopening for the 2020-21 school year that will bring students and teachers onto campus for orientation the week of August 31 and then gradually back for in-person classes.
School will open on Sept. 8 with most grades in distance learning; grades pre-K to 2 will have the option to come to campus for in-person instruction. Grades 3, 4 and 5 will have the option for in-person learning beginning Sept. 21, 22 and 23 respectively.
On Tuesday, Sept. 29, Penn Charter's phased opening will be complete: Middle School students will begin in-person learning that week, and the Upper School will begin alternating weeks with half the student body on campus for a week, and the other half at home in distance learning.
Families will have the option to choose 100 percent distance learning as well.
