Senior Surprise: Prom-in-a-Box

Days before the senior prom that wouldn't be, each PC senior received a PROMposal by special delivery, left on doorsteps by parents and teachers who had volunteered for the job. Out of the box spilled prom king and queen sashes, a crown, an instant camera and film, tin of popcorn and packets of punch. The note inside read:

Dear William Penn Seniors,

We know prom wasn't what you imagined this year. We hope this box of goodies helps you celebrate at home with us in honor of ABC's prom night, Wednesday, May 13, featuring prom-themed season finales of The GoldbergsSchooled and American Housewife.

It's not your school gymnasium, but we hope the evening brings you laughter and inspires you to create a magical moment (gowns and tuxes recommended).

So, enjoy some snacks, sip on some punch, capture some memories, and don't forget to show us your at-home prom set-ups using #ABCPromNight!

See the Action News story on 6ABC and read the Inquirer article about the fun as well as Penn Charter's connection to The Goldbergs and Schooled. And don't miss the photos of seniors making the most of their prom-in-a-box.

Thank you to ABC and to Adam F. Goldberg OPC '94, creator of The Goldbergs and Schooled, for sharing the spotlight with our seniors.
