Cordell Carter II is a nationally-recognized educator and public speaker who lectures and writes about technology, education and philanthropy. He currently leads the Aspen Institute’s Socrates Program, a global education forum that brings together leaders from diverse disciplines for conversation on a range of contemporary topics. Carter has previously held leadership roles with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Business Roundtable, the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools and the IBM Corporation. His honors include an Eisenhower Foundation Fellowship to China and designation as a White House Champion of Change for Computer Science Education. Carter serves on the board of the Advisory Council for the Center for Democracy and Technology, and the Alumni Council for Cultural Vistas. He has spoken at the 2017 Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative Summit in the Phillipines and at the US News STEM Solutions Leadership Summit in Dallas.
