Penn Charter girls tennis won the Inter-Ac 2016 championship and finished the regular season undefeated.
Thursday featured an away match vs. Notre Dame, and coach Rose Weinstein's crew claimed a 5-2 triumph, finalizing its league record at 6-0 and its advantage in matches at 34-8.
"This team is extremely happy with the win," senior Natalie Williams, one of the captains, commented to PC SportsZone. "Teamwork made this happen. We are a strong team that managed to work together well. Everyone was a team player and was satisfied with their positions on the team. Everyone contributed in some way."

This is PC's first girls tennis crown since the fall of 2000; that squad also was perfect in league play. Weinstein took control of the program in the fall of 2005.
"We all are just happy that we won the Inter-Ac with an undefeated season. With the help and coaching of our amazing coach, Rose Weinstein, we were able to strive and be better tennis players for ourselves, for each other, and for Rose. Go, Penn Charter!"
