Saturday Night Football

The Quakers achieved their good-start goal in Saturday night's varsity football game at Malvern Prep. A combo TFL by senior defensive end Kenny Bergmann and junior defensive back Brendan Pell convinced the Friars to attempt a 31-yard field goal, which was unsuccessful. PC then drove 80 yards for a TD and senior tight end Evan Ferrell scored it on a 20-yard, oh-baby, tip-the-ball-to-himself catch. Not much went right thereafter. The Quakers gained just seven more yards and fell, 37-7. Ferrell finished with four catches for 82 yards and averaged 40.9 yards on seven punts. Senior linebacker Jake McCain totaled two sacks, one TFL and two half-TFLs.

During the past week, senior lineman Sean Foley committed to play college football at Lehigh. Congrats! His dad, Ed Foley OPC '81, is associate director for PC athletics and coach of the Middle School grid squad.

Go Charter!

The spirit of Penn Charter athletics is built on a storied tradition of excellence and the belief that the interplay of academics, arts and athletics leads to strong, creative, resilient and flexible people.

Skilled teachers and coaches help our students understand – whether on the playing field or in the classroom – how to collaborate and compete, how to win with grace, and how to handle challenges and setbacks.

Our school cheer is: Go Charter!

We appreciate the student athletes who are now powering PC to great feats, and look forward to welcoming those who will do so in the future. Also, of course, we eternally appreciate the efforts of all OPCs!
