JV Football Wraps Up Season

A final record of 3-2-1 is respectable, but 4-1-1 would have been much preferred. The junior varsity football team ended its season Monday with a 20-14 loss to visiting Malvern Prep and the setback especially hurt because leads of 14-0 (halftime) and 14-13 (with 3:14 left) were relinquished. Malvern scored the game-winner on a 23-yard fumble return at 1:48. The Quakers' last drive died at Malvern's 20.

PC's touchdowns were scored by frosh wideout Gavin Tygh on a 56-yard, drag-route pass from soph Will Samuel and by soph Jordan White, the shared-time QB, on a 1-yard keeper. In the second quarter, in short order, frosh safety Hammad Harris picked off a pass, recorded a TFL and knocked down another toss. In the third quarter, also in quick fashion, frosh linebacker Nick DiCicco earned a half-sack and a pass breakup.
