Aleesha Powell Scores 1000th for Pirates

Aleesha Powell OPC '11 scored her 1,000th point for Seton Hall University in a game against North Carolina State on Nov. 26. Powell, shown here with Seton Hall women's head coach Anthony Bozzella, was honored this week with a 1,000-point presentation.

Powell left Penn Charter for Iona and scored 939 in her three years with the Gaels, and she now has 123 as a Pirate ... and counting!

The night she scored her 1,000th Powell also had a game-high 26 points to lead Seton Hall to a 66-54 victory over Fordham. The 26 points for Powell were the most for a Pirate this season and her most at The Hall, one off her career-best set at Iona, according to the Seton Hall website.

The Pirates are back on the road today (Dec. 12) for a trip to Lynchburg, Va., and a date with Liberty. Tip-off on ESPN3 is set for 5 p.m. Go Aleesha!

Skilled teachers and coaches help our students understand – whether on the playing field or in the classroom – how to collaborate and compete, how to win with grace, and how to handle challenges and setbacks.

Our school cheer is: Go Charter!

We appreciate the student athletes who are now powering PC to great feats, and look forward to welcoming those who will do so in the future. Also, of course, we eternally appreciate the efforts of all OPCs!
