Boys BKB Play for Championship Tomorrow

At least for the moment, the boys basketball varsity is not letting the girls squad own all the glory. As reported earlier Tuesday, the girls claimed a bracket championship, in Wildwood, N.J., in the Boardwalk Basketball Classic.

Wednesday, off a 50-29 triumph over Montgomery Blair, of Silver Spring, Md., in Tuesday's John Pierantozzi Bracket semifinal, the Quakers will play (1 p.m. start) for the championship against Ocean City.

Sophomore Mason Williams paced Tuesday's win by hitting three treys en route to 15 points. Seniors Michael Berk and Harrison Williams (no relation), and sub frosh Ryan "Poochie" Holmes, scored in order with nine, eight and seven markers.

Junior Mike "Neeko" Hnatkowsky, who served as a starter in this one (his sister, Lexi, also a junior, starts for the ladies), snagged four of his five rebounds in the first half and dished an assist.

OPC Jim "Flipper" Phillips has guided the Q's to a 7-2 record.

Go Charter!

The spirit of Penn Charter athletics is built on a storied tradition of excellence and the belief that the interplay of academics, arts and athletics leads to strong, creative, resilient and flexible people.

Skilled teachers and coaches help our students understand – whether on the playing field or in the classroom – how to collaborate and compete, how to win with grace, and how to handle challenges and setbacks.

Our school cheer is: Go Charter!

We appreciate the student athletes who are now powering PC to great feats, and look forward to welcoming those who will do so in the future. Also, of course, we eternally appreciate the efforts of all OPCs!
