Shoutout for Girls Squash Seniors

Girls varsity squash this week honored the three seniors on the team — Gabriela Rodriguez, Jordyn Schwartz and Jennifer Bown — and their parents. Go Charter! Jenni will plans to continue her squash career next year, playing for Amherst College.

The team dropped a 6-3 home decision to Sprinside Chestnut Hill on ThursdaySophomores Meredith Bernstein and Chloe Master, playing in the Nos. 8 and 9 positions, respectively, rolled to 3-0 victories while ninth grader Elisabeth Ross, continuing an impressive run, posted a 3-1 win in the No. 1 spot. Ninth-graders Hatti Specter (No. 2) and Mia Bezar (No. 6) joined soph Gwen Davis (No. 5) in battling through close matches that turned into 3-1 losses.

Penn Charter has provided student athletes with resources to match their talents. On 44 acres, Penn Charter offers its players and fans:

  • five grass playing fields, two synthetic turf fields, one all-weather, eight-lane track, seven tennis courts, 10 squash courts, four basketball courts, and one swimming pool.
  • PC has four buildings designated for athletics: Graham Athletics Center — with the new Blaine A. Steinberg OPC '11 Center for Fitness and Performance  Kline & Specter Squash Center, Ray Dooney Field House, and the Old Gym.
